SEA Varsity Red Basketball Outstanding Progress

By Austin Macha

SEA Varsity Red is considered the top 7th and 8th grade basketball team in all of Wilmington, and quite frankly they are. St. Ed’s always seems to find a way to win, and they showed that in the St. John the Beloved tournament. Down 9 with about 5 minutes to go in the 4th quarter, starting PG Michael Wallace hits a 3 pointer a few feet short from half court. The Lancers force a turnover on the other end and before they know it, SEA brought it back with in 2 points. 5 seconds to go Wallace penetrates the lane dishes it to starting G Austin Macha, F Will Lock makes a beautiful cut to the basket and scores. Lock sends the game into OT, 38-38. St. Edmonds Lancers went on the beat their long time rival St. John the Beloved in an OT thriller.

Varsity Red has won there past 2 tournaments and haven’t lost a game in more than a month. Counting all the tournaments, scrimmages, and league games Varsity Red is about 23-5. They have high expectations for the future. The CYO playoffs and the Salesianum invitational is coming up and Coach Bubba is eager for a 2 peat in both of those upcoming events.

I caught starting PF Dominic Marra in the halls he said “If our team plays up to potential and all 5 starters are on there game, we can blow out any team.”

We hope to see success in this team in the future. Good luck Varsity Red.

Gear To Dream Visits SEA

By Colin Kennedy

“Gear to dream” is an organization that donates sports gear to the kids of the Philippines. The kids from SEA are donating sports gear to the kids in the Philippines that can’t buy them. SEA students can give basketballs, soccer balls, footballs, basketball shoes, soccer cleats, soccer socks, shin guards, football cleats, football gear, or anything else. The only things you can’t give is snow gear because it is really humid and warm there.

As the NHL season is aproaching, the Philadelphia Flyers have new additions along with all of the 29 other teams. The Flyers have added #40 Vincent Lecavalier from the Tampa Bay Lightning. Lamborghini Cabrera Review

Video

By: Michael Nauman
The Lamborghini Cabrera is almost out, just a few more stages of testing. It will be replacing the original Gallardo later this year. Car Buz, a official car site says that the new Cabrera will compete with the Ferrari 458 Italia which is a competitor with the Lamborghini Aventador so I’m thinking that the Lamborghini Cabrera will have a very high top speed for a v10 Supercar, top speed will be in the range of 213-215. The new Lamborghini Cabrera will be one of the first cars to compete with v12 cars along with the v6 Nissan GTR. Lamborghini makes a great car. I can’t wait to see what Lamborghini does next.
