The 87ers

As some of you may know or not know but Delaware has added a NBA-D league team called the 87ers. The NBA-D league stands for: National Basketball Association Development League. They will start next season in the fall and will play at the “Bob Carpenter Center”. They don’t have any players yet because the draft hasn’t started but, they will probably be a decent team to watch.

Spring Break Recap

Over spring break the 7th grade went too Florida on a bus with Brother Thomas, Mr. Cincotta, and Mr. Habbersett. It also was the first year that Brother Joe couldn’t go because he had heart surgery. But, that didn’t stop us from having a great time. The first day we left Monday 4/1/13 at 11:45 and drove about 16 hours until we reached Perkins Diner Tuesday 4/2/13. We had breakfast with everyone and headed straight to Wet N’ Wild water park. Later that night we went to “Arabian Knights” to watch a horse show with dinner. The second day, Tuesday, we went to universal and island of adventure. We went on all the great rides, like the “hulk”, a spider man simulator, the “dragon”, “log floom”, and more. Later in the day we went to island of adventure and it started to rain but, we still went on rides. We went on the “mummy”, the “twister”, storm simulators, and the “Simpsons”. We also saw a live show called “fear factor” which was so crazy. That’s was probably the best day. The third day we went to magic kingdom. We took a fairy boat over to the park which was cool to look at the water on the move. When we got to the actual park every group went too different section. Everyone loved space mountain because it was the fastest, had sharpe turns, and had a drops. We had lunch, dinner, and stayed there until 10:00 PM. The last day we went to Epcot. They had mostly tours, simulators, and the best ride Test Track. For lunch people went to Japan and had hibachi. Some went to Mexico or Italy and had pizza or tacos. The food was great and we had a great time until we had to pack up and head home. We drove through the night and had were all tired but we couldn’t sleep because it was hard to get comfortable. That morning we stopped at McDonald’s and got breakfast. Half of us were still asleep, the food was good and most of us just wanted to get home. We drove two more hours until we reached St. Edmonds. Are parents we all happy to see us after that long week in Florida.

Hickory Wins The Championship

Some of you may know that the 7th and 8th grade basketball team, also known as “Hickory”, won the CYM championship last Sunday 2/24/13 at Sallies. We beat St. Mary The Assumption. After losing to them in the St. John’s tournament we wanted to beat them in the championship. We beat them in the regular season and from that we knew their strengths and weaknesses.
