NHL Season Starting

As the NHL season is aproaching, the Philadelphia Flyers have new additions along with all of the 29 other teams. The Flyers have added #40 Vincent Lecavalier from the Tampa Bay Lightning. Vincent has played his whole career and thought he was going to retire. He was signed by the Flyers on July 2, 2013. The Flyers have also signed #29 Ray Emery. Emery has played on the Flyers before and then left to Chicago. He was 19-1 last year and will be the Flyers starter. The Flyers have signed #2 Mark Streit. Streit was signed by the Flyers on June 12, 2013. He will most likely play on D-Line #1 along with Brayden Coburn or on D-line #2 with Oliver Lauridsen. The last Flyers transaction was adding #37 Kris Newbury who will be on line 3 or 4 with Zac Rinaldo who is a fighter. The players that have retired at the end of last season were: Jody Shelley PHILADELPHIA, Mikka Kiprusoff CALGARY, Ilya Kovalchuck NEW JERSEY, Eric Belanger EDMONTON, Blake Geoffrion MONTREAL, Jarod Palmer MINNISOTA, and Toni Lydman ANAHEIM. July 22,2013: Jaromir Jagr NEW JERSEY from BOSTON. September 23, 2013: Brandon Morrow ST LOUIS from PITTSBURGH, Mason Raymond TORONTO from VANCOUVER. Trades: June 12: Mark Striet to PHILADELPHIA from NEW YORK I for Shane Harper. June 30: Cory Schneider to NEW JERSEY from VANCOUVER for 1st round draft pick. July 4: Loui Ericksson, Joe Morrow, Reilly Smith, Matt Fraser to BOSTON from DALLAS for Tyler Seguin, Rich Peverley, Ryan Button. July 5: Bobby Ryan to OTTAWA from ANAHEIM for Jakob Silfverberg and Stefan Noesen. That was the most important changes to the teams during the offseason.
