Miami Heat Championship Protection

The Miami Heat have started off strong this year. Their new additions in Rashard Lewis, and Ray Allen will help them protect their championship and help them win another. Today is 11/29/12 and the Heat are 12-4 which is a very good record to start off the season. LeBron James is stepping up to the next level. His stats this year are 24.8 points, 9.1 rebounds, and 6.8 assists. These numbers are already amazing and we are only 16 games into the season. Then you have D-Wade and Chris Bosh. Chris Bosh is averaging 19.3 points and 8.2 rebounds. Finally Dwyane Wade is averaging 19.8 points, 3.9 rebounds and 4.8 assists per game. The Heat have to play their game and keep on being play-makers, (LeBron, D-Wade, and Bosh.)

Power ball lottery

Recently there was an announcement on one of the biggest jackpots in lottery history. The Power ball recently announced that the winnings were 579 million. The odds of you winning in this specific lottery was 1 in 750,000. The states that had citizens who won were Arizona and Missouri. The winning numbers were 5 23 16 22 29 6. In order to win the Power ball you have to get all of the numbers right including the Power ball number, in this case the Power ball number was 6. This means that you have to guess correctly 6 times in order to win. It did not beat the US record payout of 656 million that was set in the Mega Millions jackpot, but it beat the Power ball record. Personally if we win, we’re going to Vegas and hitting the slots.

Philadelphia 76ers Update

by Donovan Temme – The 76ers are having trouble in their division because of all the great teams in their division like New York, and Brooklyn. Over the offseason they almost completely switched their roster.As of now they are tied for third in their division with a record of 15-22 because they are struggling without their big man Andrew Bynum who they got from the Lakers.
Bynum Update:
The Sixers announced that center Andrew Bynum has begun low-impact exercise, Bynum is expected to be able to resume normal basketball activity by approximately Dec. 10.They are right now being led by the point guard Jrue Holiday who is having trouble with turnovers, but he is making great assists and those people wouldn’t have as many points without his playmaking ability.

Varsity Red Basketball

Will Lock, Adam Barksdale

The Varsity Red basketball team has 14 players on the roster. There are seven 7th graders and seven 8th graders on the team. We practice Tuesday and Thursday for an hour and 30 minutes. Our team is looking pretty good this year. We had our first scrimmage Saturday 11/10/12. We scrimmaged Saint Ann’s and beat them pretty soundly. Our next scrimmage is Saturday 11/17/12 when we scrimmage Christ The Teacher.

Our upcoming game is the Saint Edmonds Academy thanksgiving tournament.

SEA Varsity Soccer is CYM Champs!

The SEA soccer Varsity Red team beat Saint Mary Magdalen 3-0 for the CYM championship. The game was played at AI duPont High School. After freezing winds were blowing on our faces for the whole game, we still succeeded. Thanks to the two goals by Cole Bouchard and the one winning goal by Sean Murray, we completed an incredible unbeaten season.

iPad mini Review

By: Ryan Alzamora and Matt Rolph. Apple has come out with yet another iPad: the iPad mini. The screen is 7.85 in. The battery life will last up to about 10 hours. It comes fully updated with the newest software. The new screen has a resolution of 1024 by 768 so all software created for the earlier iPads will work. It doesn’t have the sterling retina display of the previous iPad 3 but has HD video. It has 128 GB of space. Also, it has a new charger so you can’t use an old one. It also has the siri feature and faster wireless connection. The new iPad is 53% lighter at 0.6 lbs. The new iPad was unveiled on October 23, 2012. It will be for sale in March, 2013. It will be priced at $329.

The NFL(NFC East)

Week 10 of the NFC the New York Giants are leading the NFC with a record of 6-4, with the Eagles trailing behind with a 3-6record. The Cowboys also have a 4-5record, and then theres the Redskins with a 3-6 record. The Eagles have a very easy schedule coming up in the next five games. They have Washington, Carolina, Dallas, Tampa Bay, and Cincinnati Bengals. So if they could come out with a couple wins in those game they could get back up in the race. The Eagles will have to get back into the race without Michael Vick. And that is whats going on in the NFC East.

JV Black Basketball team

Max Krinsky. Our JV Black Basketball team is looking pretty good so far. We are all fast, but I think we are most about defense so far. Everyone can steal pretty well and we are aggressive. We have a couple of players that can work on their shot but it’s looking like we could make a really good team. In our practices we mostly work on defense but then we will make a lay-up line and practice our lay-ups and cutting. When we work on defense we start the practice with shuffles across the court in a diagonal direction.Our teams record so far is 6-3.Our last game is this Saturday at vs Saint Mary Madeline at 2:15 in the field house.

Hurricane Sandy and Its Diverse Effects

WILMINGTON, DE – Here at SEA we received two cautionary days off due to Super-storm Sandy. Luckily, in our area of northern Delaware we were barely phased. The highest effects included slight power outages, downed trees and flooded basements; these are nothing compared to the devastating effects elsewhere. Along the east coast 8,000,000 people were without power and 15,000 flights were cancelled. As I’m sure you know large sections of the Jersey Shore and The Delaware Beaches are now either underwater or destroyed.
As I’m sure you could expect there was quite a buzz on social networks. Over 500,000 photos on Instagram were tagged “#sandy” within two days on the hurricane.
On a much more serious note, we keep all the people effected by Hurricane Sandy in our prayers.

Halo 4

Halo is one of the most played games on XBOX and the creators have just released their new content in HALO 4. Bungie is no longer behind HALO, now 343 Industries is in charge of HALO. HALO 4 marks the beginning on a new trilogy. The events take place after HALO 3 not HALO Reach. HALO 4 introduces a new race of deadlier aliens to face in battle. HALO 4 has ten different maps to play multiplayer and split screen on XBOX live. The new HALO game has new upgrades to your character on XBOX live. In this new game you can Creat your own maps on split screen and XBOX live.
